no blokes Is Essential for Male Viability and X Chromosome Gene Expression in the Australian Sheep Blowfly (Current Biology)

Davis, Belikoff et al. find that most X-linked genes in the blowfly Lucilia cuprina are orthologs of Drosophila 4th-chromosome genes and are dosage compensated. In addition, they show that no blokes, an ortholog of Drosophila painting of fourth, is essential for male viability and normal levels of X-linked gene expression.
