Distinct Laminar Processing of Local and Global Context in Primate Primary Visual Cortex (Neuron)
 


Visual perception is affected by spatial context. Here Bijanzadeh et al. examine the role of V1 layers in the processing of contextual information. They find layer-specific differences in the processing of local and global visuo-spatial context suggestive of distinct underlying neural circuits.
