A RECK-WNT7 Receptor-Ligand Interaction Enables Isoform-Specific Regulation of Wnt Bioavailability (Cell Reports)

Canonical Wnt/?-catenin signaling in brain endothelium is highly specialized and requires the WNT7-specific co-activators RECK and GPR124 in addition to the Wnt co-receptors FZD and LRP. Here, Vallon et al. demonstrate direct binding of WNT7 to RECK resulting in stabilization of active WNT7 and increased FZD:WNT7 complex formation.
