Non-syndromic Mitral Valve Dysplasia Mutation Changes the Force Resilience and Interaction of Human Filamin A (Structure)

Haataja et al. have investigated the molecular bases behind for non-syndromic mitral valve dysplasia caused by a mutation in Filamin protein. They find that this mutation significantly affects Filamin`s ability to transmit cellular force and to interact with other proteins. These findings will further help the development of drug-based therapeutics.
