Cholinergic Interneurons Amplify Thalamostriatal Excitation of Striatal Indirect Pathway Neurons in Parkinson`s Disease Models (Neuron)
 


Tanimura et al. found that motor-learning deficits in a mouse model of PD were triggered by adaptations in the thalamostriatal circuitry. Cholinergic interneuron activation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors on thalamostriatal axons was key to the adaptation.
