Single-Molecule Imaging of mRNA Localization and Regulation during the Integrated Stress Response (Molecular Cell)

During stress, cells form large cytoplasmic mRNA-protein granules called stress granules and P-bodies. Wilbertz et al. quantified the colocalization and dynamics of mRNAs with stress granules and P-bodies. During recovery, granule localization during stress did not alter the translation or degradation of mRNAs compared to transcripts that remained in the cytosol.
