Re: Sebastian Berg, Alexander P. Cole, Marieke J. Krimphove, et al. Comparative Effectiveness of Radical Prostatectomy Versus External Beam Radiation Therapy Plus Brachytherapy in Patients with High-risk Localized Prostate Cancer. Eur Urol 2019;75:552-5 (European Urology)
In a study using data from the National Cancer Data Base, Berg and co-workers [1] investigated treatment for healthy men (defined as a Charlson comorbidity index [CCI] score of 0) younger than 66yr with high-risk localized prostate cancer and found that initial radical prostatectomy was associated with greater overall survival when compared with external beam radiotherapy therapy plus brachytherapy.
