Randomised Clinical Trial of Prostatic Artery Embolisation Versus a Sham Procedure for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (European Urology)

This randomised clinical trial comparing prostate arterial embolisation with a sham procedure for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) showed a marked and sustained improvement in symptoms and functional parameters far superior to those due to the placebo effect with mostly mild adverse events, supporting its role in the treatment of LUTS/BPH.
