Causal Link between n-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid Deficiency and Motivation Deficits (Cell Metabolism)
 


Ducrocq et al. show that rescuing PUFA levels selectively in dopamine D2 receptor-expressing neurons prevents motivational deficits under developmental n-3 PUFA deficiency. These results support that lower n-3 PUFA biostatus described in psychopathologies could account for reward-related symptoms.
