Architecture Dependence of Actin Filament Network Disassembly (Current Biology)

Gressin et al. reveal that ADF/cofilin is not sufficient to disassemble all the different actin architectures. Cooperation between ADF/cofilin and Aip1 is therefore essential to trigger the full disassembly of all actin networks. Aip1 targets the ADF/cofilin-bound sections of actin filaments and triggers their stochastic disassembly.
