The Kinase Activity of Hematopoietic Progenitor Kinase 1 Is Essential for the Regulation of T Cell Function (Cell Reports)

HPK1 is implicated in several important steps that limit T cell responsiveness, but the mechanism is poorly characterized. Hernandez et al. demonstrate that HPK1`s kinase activity is essential for attenuating T cell function. Loss of HPK1 kinase activity enhanced antitumoral responses, proving to be an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy.
