Hypertension and Cardiovascular Morbidity Following Surgery for Kidney Cancer (European Urology Oncology)
 


Relative to radical nephrectomy, nephron-sparing surgery showed an independent protective effect on hypertension (HT) but not on major cardiovascular events (MCEs). In patients with no history of preoperative HT or MCEs, the onset of HT after radical nephrectomy is an early event, probably due to the acute loss of renal parenchyma.
