Tissue-Resident Group 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells Differentiate by Layered Ontogeny and In Situ Perinatal Priming (Immunity)
 


The perinatal period is critical for the distribution of innate tissue-resident immune cells within developing organs. Using temporally controlled fate mapping of group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s), Schneider and colleagues demonstrate that the neonatal period is accompanied by de novo ILC2 generation, systemic effector repertoire activation, and acquisition of tissue-specific signatures.
