Comparison of Magnetic Resonance Imaging-stratified Clinical Pathways and Systematic Transrectal Ultrasound-guided Biopsy Pathway for the Detection of Clinically Significant Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials (European Urology Oncology)

This meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials showed that the magnetic resonance imaging pathway detected more clinically significant prostate cancers than the systematic transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy pathway in men with a clinical suspicion of prostate cancer. A subgroup analysis showed consistent results for both biopsy-naïve patients and those with prior negative biopsy.
