Compartmentalized Synthesis of Triacylglycerol at the Inner Nuclear Membrane Regulates Nuclear Organization (Developmental Cell)

Membrane phospholipids can be used as fatty acyl donors for the synthesis of triacylglycerols by enzymes called PDATs. Barbosa et al. present evidence that, in response to nutrient signals, the yeast PDAT Lro1 is active at the inner nuclear membrane, providing a link between organelle membrane remodeling and lipid storage.
