Fast Regulation of GABAAR Diffusion Dynamics by Nogo-A Signaling (Cell Reports)

Fricke et al. explore the molecular mechanisms regulating the strength of inhibitory synaptic transmission and the GABAAR localization at inhibitory synapses. Nogo-A/S1PR2 signaling rapidly strengthens inhibitory synaptic transmission in the hippocampus, limits GABAAR diffusion dynamics, and promotes GABAAR clustering at synapses in a Ca2+- and calcineurin-dependent manner.
