Hidden Caveat of Inducible Cre Recombinase (Immunity)

Conditional gene recombination using Cre-loxP system is a powerful and widely used approach employed to interrogate gene function in mouse models. Although Cre-loxP systems are invaluable gene-targeting tools, there are multiple potential caveats that should be considered, as recently commented by Becher et al. (2018). Here, we wish to highlight one particular issue when inducible Cre drivers are used in rapidly proliferating T cells.
