The Control Centers of Biomolecular Phase Separation: How Membrane Surfaces, PTMs, and Active Processes Regulate Condensation (Molecular Cell)

Biomolecular phase separation is emerging as an essential process for cellular compartmentalization. However, the fundamental mechanisms by which cells control phase separation are only beginning to be understood. Snead et al. review how membranes, post-translational modifications, and active processes regulate phase separation to build functional structures in diverse cellular contexts.
