The USA has announced new proposals to reduce the legal limit on ozone pollution from the present 75 parts per billion (ppb) concentration of ozone to between 65 ppb and 70 ppb, and will consider public comments on a 60–75 ppb range. Ozone pollution causes respiratory and cardiac illness and breathing difficulties, such as asthma.
