ZFAND1 Recruits p97 and the 26S Proteasome to Promote the Clearance of Arsenite-Induced Stress Granules (Molecular Cell)

Normal formation and turnover of stress granules are important for cellular protein homeostasis. Turakhiya et al. identify ZFAND1 as an evolutionarily conserved regulator of stress granule turnover. By recruiting the 26S proteasome and the ubiquitin-selective ATPase p97 to arsenite-induced stress granules, ZFAND1 ensures their timely clearance and prevents their aberration.
