Against Method: Table 1--Cui Bono? (Structure)

In this Perspective, the author argues that the almost ubiquitous Table 1, containing data-collection statistics, has in its present form outlived its usefulness in most biomolecular crystal structure studies. Meaningful graphical data presentation, annotated in plain language stating the consequences of data anomalies for model quality, is proposed.
