The Functional Proximal Proteome of Oncogenic Ras Includes mTORC2 (Molecular Cell)

Ras is mutationally activated across many cancers and difficult to target therapeutically. Kovalski et al. identify the functional proximal proteome of oncogenic Ras in cancer, integrating BioID proteomics and CRISPR genetics. They demonstrate that active Ras binds and stimulates mTORC2, representing a key dependency for Ras-driven proliferation genes and tumorigenesis.
