Androgen Deprivation Therapy and Salvage Radiotherapy: Are We Missing Something? (European Urology)
 


Two major randomized trials conducted by RTOG [1] and GETUG [2] confirmed the value of combining androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) with salvage radiotherapy (SRT) to improve clinical progression-free survival and, in the RTOG study, overall survival. This combined approach has long been used on an individual basis in clinical practice, mainly for patients with high-risk prostate cancer (PC) who undergo radical prostatectomy (RP). In fact, this approach has even been recommended in some clinical guidelines [3].
