Spatial Memory Engram in the Mouse Retrosplenial Cortex (Current Biology)

Milczarek et al. identify spatial memory engrams in the mouse retrosplenial cortex using in vivo C-fos imaging. The engrams become progressively more stable with learning and are maintained over several weeks. The degree of memory retention is related to the stability of the engrams, highlighting a possible mechanism for memory consolidation.
