Stem Cell Businesses and Right to Try Laws (Cell Stem Cell)

In May 2018, the federal Right to Try Act was signed into US law (Public Law 115-176). This legislation furnishes legal protections to businesses providing unapproved drugs to terminally ill patients. Similar laws have been enacted in 41 states. Right to Try (RTT) laws have attracted critical media and scholarly attention, but there is little evidence of their actual use. Supporters of RTT laws typically couch their arguments in terms of patient choice, compassion for terminally ill individuals, and the `right` to use unapproved drugs.
