Neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer`s disease and Parkinson`s disease are characterized pathologically by aberrant protein accumulation, such as A? or ?-synuclein deposition. In this issue of Neuron, Bassil et al. (2020) observed an exacerbation of ?-syn pathology in the presence of A? plaques in vivo, with comorbid pathologies associated with greater neurodegeneration.
