Gap Analysis of Giant Panda Conservation as an Example for Planning China`s National Park System (Current Biology)
 


Yang et al. use the proposed Giant Panda National Park to illustrate an improved conservation gap analysis. This study finds that coverage gaps, overlapped designations, and disparities in management in current protected areas all adversely affect panda protection, supporting the necessity of integrated management at a large scale.
